Meta Launches AI Technology to Accurately Identify Instagram Users' Ages and Automatically Switch to Restricted Accounts
Recently, Meta announced that it will use artificial intelligence technology on the Instagram platform to predict users' ages in order to automatically transition any users suspected of age misrepresentation to teen accounts. This initiative comes in response to widespread public concern about the impact of social media platforms on the mental health of teenagers. Meta had already introduced teen accounts back in September of this year. Teen accounts are designed specifically for users aged 13 to 17, incorporating multiple restrictions, including limits on who can contact them and the content they can see.
